8:15Â -Â Â 9:30Â Kaizen Wizards vs SVI Kabalyeros (battle for 3rd)
9:45 – 11:00Â Â Safeway 1 vs Safeway 2 (Championship Game 1)
The first game is a battle for third place between the pre-season favorites, Kaizen Wizards and the Hail Mary team known as the SVI Kabalyeros. The Kaizen Wizards will want none less than a third place finish since they have maintained their lofty standing for most of the tournament. Kaizen’s championship hopes only crumbled within the later stages of the tournament with two close losses
over Safeway 2. But all is not lost for the Wizards as Kaizen can still end the tournament on a positive note with a victory over SVI for a third place finish. The SVI Kabalyeros had to take the other way around to reach this point. They were way under the radar for most of the league. But with a couple of prayers answered with key losses on teams they wished, SVI entered into the semi-final round and was even one game away of reaching the finals. With SVI’s morale better now than when they first met Kaizen, SVI could prove to be quite a challenge for the Kaizen Wizards.
For the second game, Safeway 1 and Safeway 2 opens their best of three series. With only a combined two

losses for both teams during the eliminations, one of these two Safeway teams aims to continue on their winning ways to inch closer to the championship crown. Safeway 2’s only loss in the tournament came from their intra-office rival, Safeway 1. But a lot has happened since their first encounter. Safeway 2 came up with a string of four straight victories en-route to 4-1 win loss card good enough to gain them a twice to beat advantage at the semis. Safeway 2 survived a double overtime thriller against the methodical and ever efficient Kaizen Wizards during the semi-final phase which earned them the first ticket to the finals. This extended Safeway 2’s winning run at five games.
Safeway 1 also sported a 4-1 win loss record after the eliminations. They gained the number one seed by virtue of their victory over Safeway 2 in a game which happened in the earlier parts of the tournament. In their semi-final match up. Safeway 1 had to face the unpredictable SVI Kabalyeros. The Kabalyeros surprised Safeway 1 with a come from behind victory to force a do or die match and gain the right to face Safeway 2 in the finals. Safeway 1 then went back to their winning ways to deny the SVI Kabalyeros championship hopes.
Will history repeat itself? Will Safeway 1 win again over Safeway 2? Or will Safeway 2 extend their winning run to six straight games and be just one game away from the championship? These two evenly matched teams collide again in what promises to be a classic game of hoops. No one really knows who’ll lord it over after the final buzzer sounds but we’re pretty sure these teams would make one hell of an exciting ball game.
