It has all the elements for a movie storyline.
A ragtag team, wearing different shorts to match their different shirts and sandos. Going up against an all-preppy team, with their bright blue uniforms and cheerleaders.
The game started out one-sided. The BOCOL’s confusions and errors were magnified by the precision and execution of the Nuggets team. The 1st quarter even ended with BOCOL scoring only on a free throw by Seguerra against the Nuggets’ 14 pts. The game’s only noteworthy action at that point was the altercation between BOCOL’s Seguerra and Nuggets’ Villanueva which resulted to the ejection of Villanueva.
BOCOL tried to keep
up in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, behind Seguerra and Sunga. But the Nuggets just wouldn’t budge, as they pad their lead by

Then came the climax worthy of a Regal Films movie reminiscent of the Alvin Patrimonio-starrer in the 80’s. Amidst the wild cheering from his fans, BOCOL’s main man, Ron Moreno came in the 4th quarter. Bringing with him the
team’s hope and
more importantly, the team’s uniform.
For a while, BOCOL seemed to find strength in their new uniform. They slowly crawled back into the game, led by the tag team of Sunga and
Moreno. What was at first a game for the flies suddenly turned close, with the BOCOLs tying up the score behind Seguerra’s three midway to during the 4th quarter.
But the Nuggets also found hope and inspiration behind the much-inspired De Guzman. Stepping up to the game, he converted a series of baskets down the dying minutes of the game to keep the BOCOLs at bay.
And with NUGGETS only up by two, the BOCOLs surprisingly came up short. A series of missed shots and costly turnovers eventually denied this cinderella team of their fairy tale ending.
The movie-theme-happy-ending was not meant to be. But as any player would always say, Life is not Fair. And so are the referrees.
