Safeway 2 barged into the win column at the expense of the SVI Kabalyeros, 62-57. Both teams are now tied with a 1-1 record at the team standings. Garcia of Safeway 2 led all scorers with 17 points . SVI’s Guaring filled his team’s offensive sac making 16 points.

The SVI Kabalyeros seemed to be on their way to a 2-0 start at the

team standings as they controlled the first half, 37-30. The Kabalyeros however failed to sustain its pace in the third quarter with Safeway 2’s Basa chipping in eight points giving Safeway 2 an 18-8 advantage in the third quarter and more importantly the lead at the end of the third period 38-35. The SVI Kabalyeros fought back in the fourth quarter behind Guaring’s eight points. Safeway 2’s balanced fourth quarter attack neutralized this. The Kabaleyeros had their chances of clinching the victory if not for some costly turnovers down the stretch. In the end, Safeway 2 hung on to the lead to gain their first win in two games.
